Taking a cue from the Hill neighborhood, Washington University Medical Center has teamed up with local artist Grace McCammond to turn the ordinary into something a little more special…art. The fire-hydrant project consists of two phases with the first being the fire hydrants along Manchester from Tower Grove to Vandeventer in the Grove District. The second phase will consist of all of the other fire hydrants in the Forest Park Southeast Neighborhood, including those on residential streets. The hydrant design for Manchester is based upon the Grove logo. The designs for the two phases will be different, but both will have the common goal of helping to establish the boundaries and identity of the Forest Park Southeast neighborhood.
