Gov. Nixon Visits FPSE to Announce Incentive Project

This afternoon, Governor Jay Nixon awarded $424,227  in Brownfield Redevelopment Incentives for local restaurant, Sweetie Pie’s. The funds will be used to clean up property located at 3643 Delmar Blvd. for the new restaurant which will be called Sweetie Pie’s Upper Crust, as well as create 59 new jobs.

The renovated property on Delmar will house a new restaurant and bakery that will offer breakfast, banquet and meeting space and separate bakery sales. Sweetie Pie’s current locations lack the space necessary for these additional services.

Governor Nixon said…

“It is crucial that we use every tool available to create jobs and get Missouri’s economy moving forward. Economic incentives like the Brownfield program are essential to spurring growth and allowing Sweetie Pie’s and other businesses to hire hard-working Missourians. These resources will turn an abandoned building into a new restaurant for a unique St. Louis business which has developed a large, loyal and diverse customer base, while creating jobs and boosting our economy.”
