Meet Robert MacKenzie, Washington University Medical Center Redevelopment Corporation’s newest Safety and Securities Intern.  Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Robert is currently working on his master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Missouri, St. Louis.

As the Safety and Securities Intern, Robert will be responsible for tracking weekly and monthly crime related statistics, along with assisting in coordination of security providers and the central west end neighborhood security initiative.  His duties will also include researching crime-related initiatives, grants, strategies, and solutions as well as reviewing neighborhood crime trends.

When he’s not reviewing crime-related statistics, Robert enjoys running and all things Michigan sports including the Lions, Tigers, and Red Wings.  Another hobby of Robert’s is reading, mostly fiction by the likes of Dan Brown.

WUMCRC: “What are some of the advantages of working in Forest Park Southeast?”

ROBERT: “I think becoming familiar with a new neighborhood in St. Louis, seeing the actual process of a neighborhood rebuilding and improving itself. ”

WUMCRC: “What do you enjoy most about living in St. Louis?”

ROBERT: “St. Louis is a great city to live in because there is always something to do.  The city offers so many different types of events and opportunities to participate in.”

WUMCRC: “What is your favorite food and why?”

ROBERT: “Spaghetti because it is easy to make and still tastes delicious!”
