Recently WUMCRC worked with Washington University School of Medicine to find a positive use for their gently used computers. So far over 40 computers have been donated to Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club. These new computers are instrumental to the students educational needs. Today, we got a chance to tour the computer lab and talk with some of the instructors at the community center.
Computer instructor Bryan Range stated…
“Here we try to give students options so they are empowered to make educated decisions and these new computers help stimulate their minds.”
Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club Unit Director Nathan Ivy had this to say…
“The computers have aroused their curiosity in technology. The younger students are allowed to navigate a variety of educational and entertaining sites. The older students have taken advantage of now using the computers for research papers and college searches.”
