The Holiday Outreach Program is an annual community outreach initiative coordinated by the Washington University Medical Center (WUMC). The program gives participating departments of the Washington University School of Medicine, BJC medical campus, and others an opportunity to aid in our mission of stabilizing neighborhoods surrounding the medical campus and assist a family in need.

We are well aware that this terrible pandemic is touching all of us in various ways. We understand that individuals and departments may not be able to give as they have in prior years. We also know there will be an even greater need this holiday season to assist our local families and seniors.  We have made significant changes to the program to keep everyone safe while giving much needed support and help to our neighborhood families and seniors in need. This year, donations to the annual WUMC Holiday Outreach Program will be conducted entirely online. 

Due to safety concerns around Covid-19 this year, outlined below are the major changes to the holiday outreach program put in place to keep our employees and communities safe:

  • Departments will not be purchasing gifts for delivery this year.
  • The program will only provide gift cards, grocery cards, and utility bill assistance to families and individuals accepted into the program.
  • Departments should only purchase gift cards and/or make a direct monetary donation that will assist our families with utility bill assistance. 

This year, in partnership with Park Central Development, the

Holiday Outreach Program will NOT be physically delivering gifts.   

Departments and donors will donate ONLINE to help with grocery

gift card and utility assistance.
