Some of our Community Development interns, Brooke and Jessie, ventured out into the neighborhood last week to revitalize some of the intersections before the temperature drops too much. The corners of Taylor, Newstead, Tower Grove, and Boyle Avenue all received a little tender loving care and some new spruce trees, pansies, and creeping myrtle in their planters. If you take a look around to appreciate your surroundings, you’ll notice that each of the planters on Chouteau have the intersection street name positioned on it.
Washington University Medical Center maintains the planters, which were installed last year, as well as the perennial garden and Forest Park Southeast entry signs. These areas, which have all recently received a needed facelift, have instilled a new sense of pride in the community by neighborhood residents and some have even offered to help with the upkeep of these areas.
