Ms. Biddle, a long time resident of Forest Park Southeast, has had recent health issue and has been forced to use a motorized scooter to navigate the neighborhood.   To protect her scooter from the elements while not in use,  Ms. Biddle would carry the scooter up the steps to her house, which eventually resulted in a shoulder injury.  Daily trips into the neighborhood have now gotten easier for Ms. Biddle thanks to Washington University Medical Center, Rebuilding Together, and Home Depot.  Due to the two organizations efforts Ms. Biddle now has a brand new wheelchair ramp that leads directly to her back door.  WUMCRC’s past intern, Enrique Flores, designed the new ramp.

Ms. Biddle states,” I am extremely grateful to Washington University Medical Center for building this incredible ramp for me.  If it wasn’t for their kindness, I would still be dragging my heavy scooter up the steps to my house.   This ramp has given me more freedom in my life.  Just to be able to walk out my door and go about my day is a wonderful gift.”
