Beginning April 11, SLMPD and Highway Patrol Collaborate on New Task Force in CWE

As 9th District Captain, Mike Caruson explains in the video below, the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are collaborating on a special task force to bring down the number of automobile break-ins in the central corridor of St. Louis.  This initiative, which begins on April 11, 2010, will target the Downtown, Midtown, and Central West End neighborhoods.

The task force will occur 7 days a week and throughout the entire summer.  Each evening instead of 1 dedicated car that patrols the Central West End there will now be 6  patrol cars.  The patrols will be a combination of  Highway Patrol and SLMPD officers and will be in both marked and unmarked cars.
