Manchester Avenue is progressing well. The transformation of the road from a high speed pass through to a pedestrian friendly boulevard is well underway. The next great transformation of the street is happening now. New street trees are being installed along the northside of the street. Prior to the improvements, the landscapers were able to identify savable trees. The non-savable trees on the north side were replaced with three different types of new trees lining the streets: hornbeam, ornamental red bud and red maple. Bike racks, trash cans and pedestrian street lights will be installed in the next stage of the project.
