The Grove entertainment/business district is the first neighborhood of the city of St. Louis to offer valet parking for patrons of their businesses. Valet service starts tonight, August 10th, from 9pm-3am and will continue to be available every Thursday – Saturday 9pm-3am. The valet drop-off will be located in front of the post office (4120 Manchester Avenue) and will cost only $3 dollars. The cars will be parked on private lots that will be monitored by valet staff.
When asked about the benefits of the new valet service, Brian Phillips, parking committee chair of the Grove states,
“As the Grove continues to get more and more visitors, the valet parking will provide a safe and secure parking option for patrons of the businesses. Offering district wide valet is more efficient than having competing valet stands. It enables us to use available private parking more efficiently as well.”
The parking committee is currently working on another enhancement, striped parking on Chouteau and Arco. The striped parking will increase the number of available spaces to the public. As soon as the committee can make arrangements with the city, the striping will begin.
