Washington University Medical Center Redevelopment Corporation (WUMCRC) continues to partner with the Forest Park Southeast (FPSE) neighborhood to further strengthen and stabilize this important community. Since 1997, WUMCRC has provided incentives for employees of BJC HealthCare and Washington University to purchase homes in FPSE through the Employer Assisted Housing Program (EAHP). Since the program’s inception, 38 employees have purchased $4.7 million in housing in the neighborhood. The program has now expanded to include the Skinker-DeBaliviere, West End, DeBaliviere Place and Northeast University neighborhoods, which are in close proximity to the Danforth, North and West Campuses of the university.
University employees are eligible for up to $8,500 in forgivable loans to assist with down payment and closing cost for purchases in the FPSE neighborhood. BJC employees are eligible for up to $4,000. Travis Phelps, the program’s administrator, noted that there are also several opportunities for a new construction in Forest Park Southeast. For detailed program guidelines, please visit the EAHP website or contact Travis Phelps at 314-747-2336. The EAHP program is one of many programs and initiatives the WUMCRC administers in FPSE to further stabilize the neighborhood.
Washington University School of Medicine employee Adam Kepka recently purchased an historic home in the budding neighborhood of FPSE. Adam participated in EAHP and kindly invited us into his newly purchased home for a video interview.
